I hope by now all the fabric swappers have their fabric sent out in the mail and I'm wondering if anyone else has received theirs yet?

We've had a mini-taste of spring, snow melting a little, bits of earth showing and once spring comes I want to be out there, so have to get my crafting over with pretty soon! Mind you I tend to craft all the time...

I took a quick peek to see if any crocus tips were poking up but I'm a little early forthat. The lilac trees look like they are fat with buds, except where the deer gnawed them off. Clematis, too soon to tell.

COme on fabric...I am on pins and needles. Literally.

I haven't received my fabric yet either... canada post is too slow!!!! Laughing

I sent my fabric out express post and it was suppose to arrive on the 10th to its destination. I don't think it made it. Evil or Very Mad Oh well, as long as it gets there eventually.

You can almost see the grain in it!
I have 1 fabric that may "go" with in it but now(being the quiliting newbie that I am) I realize I have very little fabric w/out big patterns on it,...I think I will have to visit my quilter friends and beg/steal some solid scraps that will go with the colors Of the mice,
By the way, I am afraid of mice but I really like these ones!
Thanks Uno!!!

Goodie! Goodie! Those are some tricky fabrics I sent you Miry...none of them work together although there are some distant possibilities.

I am impressed with your camera! It must be pretty good to be able to take such clear, close-up shots.

I think I better brush my hair (so Idon't frighten the neighbours) and leash the dog and slip and slide up to the mailbox. Melted all day yesterday then hit -8 lastnight, man I hate that!

Let us know what you're doing, everyone!

WOO, I got my fabric in the mail today and it’s just beautiful! Thank you blackdove. Smile

And to top it off when I opened my package, out fell a little heart shaped box of chocolates (yum!) and the neatest mini bookmarkers. You’ve certainly spoiled me with the little gifts and the lovely fabrics. Thank you so very much. Very Happy

Don’t worry miry, I only sent one piece too… Embarassed I really wish it’d hurry up and get there already!

Woo Hoo!! I received my fabric!!!! Banana Miry, I laughed out loud when you said fabric dump... I think we are busted uno. Laughing You see, us quilters are addicted to buying cotton and so if we can use fabric from our stash up, that means we are justified to go shopping for more new cotton. Laughing Laughing

Here is what I received from PC. I have a few things in mind, like maybe a couple pot holders for my kitchen. I think I have a few fabrics in my stash that will go nicely with this too. Thank you Prairie Chick!!! Cool

Yay glad you got yours too Uno, is that everyone now? Very Happy

My chat with quiltie friends revealed I should get "tone on tone" fabric to go with my print NOT solids!....sigh this seems like there are almost too many rules in quilting! Shocked tongue
On a more positive note I printed out and am going to try an "easy rail fence" pattern does this sound simple enough for me?
It uses a dark tone on tone, a medium tone on tone and a light print (my mice!)
So only 3 fabrics to not confuse me too much!
I thought it looked very cool...3 strips sewn together and turned each time so it has a 3 alternating zigzags on edge(I was thinking mice in a maze) pattern!

These are a few possible matches, I have many more that could work, was just playing around a little here.

This is serious business. I think Hubby will have to make dinner while I ponder this situation here in my sewing room.

ooooh I like it, uno! That looks like something I would pick out. Ohh the possibilities!!

I was going though my fabric today as well. I was excited to find some fabrics to match and have decided to make potholders. Here's a pic of some of the fabrics I chose.

Peaceful evening.
Fabrics spread about my quilt room, working on possibilities.
Checking in on my fave quilt block site for inspiration.
That music...oh that horrible, nerve shredding music...why the music?
I may have to stab a screwdriver into my ear. Whoever thought that music was a good idea must have had a screwdriver stabbed into their ear! Make it stop! Make it stop! Shocked

YAAAY! I’m so happy it finally arrived uno, and that you like. Banana

And wow, sounds like you guys have the creative juices flowing already. Can't wait to see what you're gonna do! Cool

So I thought I knew what I was making, but now I’m not sure. I want to do my fabric justice and make something as pretty as it is…I’m not really feeling a hen saddle any more…maybe something like a little makeup tote bag? That sounds nice and simple…I hope. lol
