Fall 2013 fabric swap

I would be willing to organize a fabric swap if people are interested.

I think most of us got a project finished last time, except Blackdove...bad Blackdove!

No one has to sign up yet. It's just something to mull over for the next few weeks. Like I said, this is a casual fly-by.

If you have fabric to pass along and would like to receive a piece, you can put your hand up and I'll write your name down. Then watch to see further news releases in the coming weeks. If there is not enough interest, we won't bother.

oooo this sounds really interesting!! I will have to look up the last swap to see what all went on, but I think I might want to toss my name into the hat too  

Basically what goes on is I assign everyone a buddy. You send a chunk of fabric to your buddy, and wait to get your fabric in the mail from the person sending to you.

No, it is not a straight across swap, the person you send fabric to is NOT the person sending it back to you. Oh the organizing and planning I have to do, oy!

Then you make something with your bit of fabric (adding more from your own stash) and post pics so we can all admire your creative genius.

It's just a fun little something to do. A little surprise in the mail makes it worth walking to the mailbox.

Lanaire, let me know for sure if you're in or out. I think the minimum size was 1/2 metre or 2 fat quarters. Cant remember for sure. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You guys gonna put a fall theme on this?

Sold. I'm in . Sounds like a blast!! And an easy commitment which really fits my life these days

We exchange 100% cotton, the kind that most quilters and crafters use. If you have a fabric store anywhere near, they will know what you mean when you ask about quilting cotton.

In the last few months I have produced 3 quilt tops. One of them is a clunker and will be thrown in a closet and forgotten. Another is quite ugly, but it's just like the quilts my Grandma would make, and thus, as I made it, I learned to love its ugliness. And the one I am quilting right now...I impressed myself. I have been a busy bee!

Anyone else feel the urge to hunker down with a fall project? Give me your name and you're in the game!
