It was the PM on the 'other' forum. Sue must be very popular as her's was full. Mine never seems to get that way. Rolling Eyes

I promise to send my next frustrated vent to you Uno. Very Happy

Well, I think you all need to make a visit to your local elementary school today. Just show up unannounced and offer to volunteer. The kindergarten room is a good bet. Get all sugared up and feel the love!

I am feeling it...sugar and full inboxes....that is what it is all about!

I believe I know of whom we are refering too. I stopped reading their posts. Frankly, that poster gives me a headache. Sort of remiands me of someone I know that no matter how you try to help them, all they want to hear is support of their opinion only. Any other opinion going against what they want to hear, they dismiss. Can't waste my time.

The lack of certain people on this forum is what makes it the bomb.

That's all I'm saying.

I just joined both and I agree that this one is better. The lack of certain people makes it better for sure. Thanks to my favorite SIL for pointing to this forum.

Higgins Rat, I understand what you are saying about ignoring certain posts and the people who irk us with their arrogance. "Who cares what they say?".
I do agree sometimes it is best to live and let live. Let those people post away to their heart's content. But what about when those words become destructive? At what point does it change from harmless boasting to something damaging to breeders, fanciers, the hobby as a whole?
There are a great number of novice chicken keepers on forums these days. They are a captive audience, there to learn from others and they trust the information they are given. I fear their perceptions of purebred breeders is changing due to the constant discrediting of those of us keeping pure breeds, and especially those despicable people with "show chickens". I see it happening.

This particular person has no idea of how other breeders flocks compare to her own birds. But she continues to harm the reputation of fellow breeders and their accomplishments.

I know this started as a vent. I understand what all has been said. But I have to agree more with KathyS. My family may have had back yard chickens growing up in Florida, ones we got at a feed store, but I am new to poultry over the last three years. It has been a total learning experience and I still feel I know next to nothing when it comes to chickens. As KathyS said, the novice may take what is said at face value. However, for those that truely want to learn, they will talk to many, read from lots, and see for themselves as well. I encourage everyone (even if they seem to argue) to post what you know and believe. That is the way we novice (and unlearned lol) poultry keepers will learn. I understand not wanting to come off harsh, argumentative, or condescending. Just keep in mind many want to learn, even when we dont say anything, we are reading it.

I am enjoying everyones participation in this thread even though it did start with me having a bit of a rant. Embarassed
Some very good points made for sure.
Tara, you know I aways enjoy your quotes. KathyS you voice how I sometimes feel for sure.

Thank you for posting this Pfarms. I think it is nice to be reminded that there are people out there that appreciate the information, even if they don't post in the thread. I know lots of times I think there is something really good posted and have learned something new, but I don't post about it. I will try to keep this in mind next time I am feeling the way I did last night.

Seemed like it sort of fell into what is being talked about in a way ?

Honestly have come not to like the person based on their posts. Frankly, they are a troll to me. May sound harsh but I don't get someone who claims they don't enjoy doing something yet do the very thing they don't like. Then when it all buggers up on them, wants help, you give it and they bash you for it.

Points well made and well taken.
I'm headed out to the barn to cage up some of my beautiful and productive, SOP correct chickens so I can be ready to head to the show bright and early tomorrow morning.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. If it sounds like a troll, looks like a troll, acts like a troll, writes like a troll ... it's probably a troll.

Where do I begin?

I erase more posts than I post. Vent then erase.

I come from a big and sharp tongued family, I have learned to keep my head down and my mouth shut and live in peace.

We all know who and what to listen to.

Laugh at the fools, support the wise.

I love this one:

Heda, I think we may be cut from the same cloth.

Let me get all biblical on you.

1 JUDGE not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
— Matthew 7:1-5

Matthew really rocks the beams and motes thing.
