Well, my first hatch of the season just went into the hatching tray. I don't expect any until late on Monday, but I will be away for a bit and down they go.

I have added more water, do the sportsmans need to be quite humid to have a good hatch? It has been running between 30-40ish. The second tub brings it up into the 60s, is that to high. I have always hatched with a bit lower humidity than that, but this is Bertha's first run and I would like to get them ALL out! Very Happy

Wish me luck.

Here's hoping for a great hatch! bounce
30-40% humidity is what I had my last hatch at, and everything went well. I didn't raise it significantly for the hatch.

Good Luck!!!

I'll wish you good luck as well. Are these the eggs from Briarwood?

I'll answer cause I understood she'd be away for a bit before the hatch. I believe the brown eggs are her Partridge Chanteclers' eggs along with her new line of Wheaten Ameraucanas' eggs that she brought in from last year not from Briarwood.

However.......I shall be corrected if I'm wrong.

Good luck on your hatch Coopslave.
I have been keeping my humidity around the 35-40% during my hatch so far this year and have had good luck with it.

Nope, the eggies from me included marans eggs Smile

Your humidity might be ok for these eggs to hatch but the marans need it to be 55% and higher or they will get stuck Smile

Coopslave I run my Sportsman hatcher at 60% humidity and have another great hatch coming off as we speak.

I think 60% for the few days before hatching works good.
BEst of Luck for Bertha!
