How exciting! My husband bought me two new Cornish!

I have just added to my flock of Cornish Bantams, care of Perry Schofield (thanks Perry!) They are beautiful, like little heart-shaped flying saucers.

I got home tonight and lo and behold my husband had a wonderful surprise for me.

Here is how the conversation went:


Doug: I got you two Cornish hens.

Sue: Two hens! Where are they?

Doug: On the counter.

Sue: What? In the kitchen?

Doug: Yeah.

Sue: What are they doing there?

Doug: Defrosting. When is dinner?

Well bantams already don't eat much but these should be super cheap to keep! The downside is they really won't contribute to your breeding program.

Currently they are roasting in the oven. Dinner should be around 7:30 mountain time.

You had me going with that title! I was thinking, "what an unusual thing for a husband to do...surprise you with some new chickens!"
I'm afraid those are the only kind of chickens my husband would buy, too.

They were... delicious!

Tonight was the second meal we ate from those two plump cornish. Tomorrow will be the third. They are soupifying as we speak.
