Help! Punctuation! Gone! Wild!

My one downfall is punctuation.  I try to follow the rules but my punctuation often appears to be applied by a shotgun.  My downfall is exclamation marks!  I seem to find everything exciting!  I can't control those exclamation points!  

I also have issues with apostrophes.  My blood boils when I see and apostrophe and then an 'S' to show a plural!  Look there is another exclamation mark!  Oh, oh, I am feeling the need for an ellipsis...

What is your punctuation downfall?

I used to be a professional writer - freelance writer, columnist, reporter and editor are all on my resume. As such, nearly everything I read irritates me if I pay too much attention.

Spelling, capitalization, grammar and punctuation should matter more to the general public.

Authentic, are you for or against the Oxford comma?

Well, it depends on the usage of it. I think there are situations where it clarifies things, and other situations where it is redundant.

Spelling errors make me crazy but as for punctuation it is most definitely the exclamation mark! Just can't post without it!

I will admit it ... I unfriend people on Facebook whose status updates are consistently incorrectly structured.

Well I don't spell the best or use the correct punctuation, and if someone does not like it  that is their Fault not mine.
Edited to add. If people don't like it don't read what I write. But I must say I write the truth even if it spelled wrong.

my problem is smiley face . . . elipsis insert . . . my son just about ripped my computer off me cause' his issue is not using capital letters at the beginning of sentences . . . oh oh he is taking over, had to put an apostrophe (had to use spell check there   ) . . . oh oh he won't go away!!!!! he wants to put comma's and stuff. he is driving me nuts. i'm deliberately leaving the capitals off for his benefit   . he's just gone now, was too much for him!!!! Now where was I? My thing is that I can't seem to type anything without putting smiley faces into sentences as if they are punctuation :-). See, just like that. I always have to reread my post to delete too many of them and sometimes are brave enough to take almost all out, sometimes I manage to take them alllllll out! It is not easy I can tell you   .

and I forget to capitalize stuff, and I forget sometimes (okay, not sometimes. almost all the time. its like my way of rebelling against the world) to put the apostrophe in the compound words.  (dont, didnt, isnt~~ you get the idea. its like making that one extra key stroke is painful or something)

its horrible. absolutely deplorable

I should be shot and flogged and maybe even quartered at dawn.


and its probably a good thing I dont post anymore during or after seizures, after that whole incident where I had moderators edit my posts to correct all the mistakes I made   (different forum!) .  If you saw some of that, it would probably give you an aneurism

oooo and ellipsis.... yes! but not just three, that is never enough. things must be in pairs and not odd numbers so I like four....

So many people perplexedly passionate for punctuation! Pleasing!
