What's everyone paying for small squares?
I've seen $10 bale for high quality horse hay to light u-pick bales at $2/bale.

$45 and up for round bales, plus hauling. Hay is short in this part of the province this year.

This year is the first year I don't have to worry about hay. The farmer cut mine for me and will put a large round bale over the fence for the sheep whenever it is needed. Nice!

Last year it was $3 per square bale delivered... about an hour or so away... this year it is $3.25.... I also hire two high school boys to put it in for me and pay them $50 each for the job.... with a $10 tip each because they are so good doing it.... worth every penny to me !
It is a mixture of timothy and....?
My goats, pacas, and donkeys had no objections and were round as butterballs in the spring.
Out of the field it can be $1.50-$3.00

Neighbours up here charge $6.50/bale for very good quality horse hay. Much more if they deliver.

We are paying $100 per bale for good quality alfalfa/grass mix. The bales are 6 feet high and five feet in diameter. I don't know what they weigh.

Spoiled by a friend, I pay $1 per small square bale that we pick up. The large, round bales get delivered for $10 each. They are tight and heavy. I always pay more, as it seems like I am taking advantage at that price.
He also leaves them here on his wagon, so I can cover them and use them at my leisure.
The average is as Critter Haven said though.

In the okanagan-Armstrong; i am after mostly alfalfa, 60 lb bales $6, grass hay maybe 6-6.50
We bought "organic" hay last year from a fellow up in tappen for 9.00/bale. only because he said it was 90% alfalfa not because it was organic, and there was nothing else around-we ran out and had to scrounge.
in penticton area we were paying $9/bale
Good to know what the prices are everywhere
