how cold did it get last night

it got down to -3 last night froze water on the cattle water

Yikes, it was 1.3 when I got up at 7. SNOWING here. The beans and corn are up and that might not be good. Only had one tomato planted and it is covered.
Oh the joys of spring in this country.

It was just over freezing here,it was still only plus 4 at 8 a.m. pretty cold for being cloudy and damp. Is it March or June?

It was -8 at 7 this morning, but we are always quite a bit colder than most people in our area as she are right on top of the river hill and get the cold rising from the river

Frost here this morning but I had covered the tenders in the garden and flower beds .... supposed to frost again tonight.

But I have 1 Australian Spotted duckling hatch this morning. Quite a survivor this one seeing as the eggs arrived in a scrambled leaking bag from Canada Post that said Sorry, your package was damaged. Looks like one Buff duckling and 3 Roen or Saxony may make their way too. Hope I have at least one more hatch for Spotty's company.

My feed store does not carry nonmedicated chick starter or duck food. What should I feed little Spotty? I have chick grower but it isnt high enough protein ... I could pick up turkey grower, not sure what it is for protein. Any suggestions.

Anything unmedicated would work, or if you have to use medicated chick starter maybe you could cut it with cracked wheat or even Red River cereal...so they don't get TOO much amprolium.

I think waterfowl starter is 20% but I would think you could manage with the chick grower if it is unmedicated and was 15% protein or so....
