I find myself coming down with a cold at a most inopportune time. Not that there's any good time for a cold, but I have a holiday planned for this Friday that starts out with an epic series of flights to get to my destination. Just thinking about it makes me tired, and my ears are starting to hurt. Sad

I've been taking oil of oregano and getting lots of rest and taking lots of fluids. It's holding it at bay, but I'm pretty sure it's going to get me the minute I get on that first plane if it hasn't already.

Anyone have any natural cold cures to share? I sure could use one.

Chicken soup with lots of onions and garlic, hot tea with honey and lemon, oranges, and couch time with some terrible movies.

Olive. Olive leaf extract. Olea europaea.

There is no miracle cure. But we have found this works to shorten the duration and lighten the misery. This is not something you take all the time, this is a 'pour on the recovery and immune' pill. I dscovered it when the kid had Mono and was very, very, very sick.

We use Sisu brand, there are others. Get some at the health food store and start taking it now and keep taking it for the next 10 days.

For sore throat, use potatoe chips. Plain ripple work best. Suck the salt off, slowly. Much more effective than a gargle. Two handfuls slowly sucked should bring some relief within half an hour or so.

What a lousy time to get sick! Have as much fun as you can.

If you follow my natural method for the current cold you lose a weekend, but start to feel better on Monday night. Home made current wine helps along with Highland meatball soup.

We take liquid vitamin D drops, it is amazing how fast it makes you feel better and we continue to take them all year long to keep a healthy immune system.

Not sure what quantity you prescribe but we do one drink of alcohol in the evening (not every evening, just when we're sick). Those old timers knew what they were about with the hot toddy.
