Well we dont have enough snow for a SNOW DAY but it is stated as a COLD DAY today. With the windchills at -42 the bus is not running, so I am blessed with my kids home all day today...
Told them there are plenty of chores to keep them busy. LOL

But truth be told, mom will be running out to quickly do chores then hibernating in the house with the kids. Burr

We have -43 but the bus is still running, the magic number to cancel school and have no buses running is -45. Well it is suppose to be -45 during the day, i don't know why they are having classes to me it seems crazy!

Our school is open though the busses aren't running. I have to go in to teach an empty class.

Yes my youngest still wants me to drive her in to school, my oldest has passed that age now and says if no bus no school. LOL

La-chicken I was supposed to do bookwork today too, Wednesdays are my book days, but not when I have two kids and a lamb running around the house. Laughing

I, too am suppose to go to work.
I work in a Rural highschool in a field that is just off a highway. All students either drive themselves or are bussed in.
I drive 30 minutes to get there.
This year, I decided I am not riskin it! Not anymore. To go to an empty school with no plug ins. My response is" don't pay me."

Man, I am getting cranky as I age.

Been pretty cold the last few days but it's above zero today. The birds are outside on January 18. I think that's another first for me.

No worries. It's supposed to be cold here again tomorrow.

Thinking of all of you on the prairies there. It's a balmy -10 here this morning and I've got 4 roosters in my living room who had baths yesterday that need to go back outside in it today.

haha 2 kids and a lamb in the house...that should keep you busy alright!
Our buses still ran, like PC said the magic number is -45 and it was only -43...we phone the bus driver though and told her ours wouldn't be going anyhow...
At least the sun is out here now and that makes such a world of difference!

That sun sure does make a difference. Still -32 here, not sure what the windchill is, but I was very comfy in my Hubby's clothes (LOL) today. I should have shrunk them sooner.
Got all the pens bedded down, got my momma sheep comfy and added checked the heat lamp on the babies. The birds are all doing well, all had frozen dishes this am even though many have heat lamps above them. Only ones working are the heated water dishes, going to have to buy me more of those I guess.

I was thinking about having one of those today too. Minus 30 with the wind I'm thinking its not worth leaving the house for 3 hours of preschool! Very Happy

Wow you guys in SK are hardcore! Laughing Our buses didn't run yesterday or today. They don't run after -35C. This morning it was -40 here and according to the weather network felt like -49... Shocked

I sure did the chores in a hurry today. haha The birds are happy in their coop, with the oil heater its only -3 in there. Not bad at all. The power bill is gonna hurt though. Cold

Holy SNAP! The temp dropped fast yesterday. The birds were outside and I was out doing some work in the warm weather and then a big wind blew in and, within an hour, I had to go and shut the coop up again. Didn't think to check what it had dropped to. My brain might have been frozen by the time I got inside.

We should be having one today ..........but it seems we're always a bit warmer then what they are forecasting ???? Even though they forcast minus 42 to 45 overnight it seems that we are below that at -38 ? strange eh ? Seems like our municipality really doesn't want to shut down regardless of what the national weather forecast says, or the safty of the kids on the bus's ?? strange again ????? They have up'd it to a daytime temperature of -35 with a windchill of -45 or greater ?? one degree differance and it's not going to happen ......strange again Eh ???? Wasn't it CBB who complained the interior temp was very cold inside the bus ???? point proven !!

-43C is too damn cold. Burr I spent morning chore time feeling like a human popsicle and trying to bring relief to my poor birds via hot oatmeal and scrambled eggs. I can't imagine having to go anywhere in weather like this! Cold
