Awesome Osprey

We have an osprey here, he works the river and we see him almost every morning from our bedroom window. The only thing that seems to put the run on him are the bald eagles. Although the crows mob up and try to knock down his fish. Great photo!

If my parent had brought home dinner that was as long/tall as they were, MY eyes would bug too! That's so impressive! Even the Pike looks suitably in awe.

I shouldn't mock the Pike, giving his body up the way he is, after all.

That is quite the feat, to lift such a large fish like that.

Ya, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Your Sister-in-Law surely has a hand good with a camera, wow, such shots. Telephoto lens are incredible what they can capture. Look at the size of the fish, it is nigh as long as the body of the osprey itself. We have an osprey nest across the eastern alfalfa field. They scare me. I know they are fishers, but I see them floating around our place all the time. And it is not water that they are looking at. Never had one come down to the ground in our area, too much activity I guess, but they are lookin' in the fields for surely. They sound like chicks calling when they are active, very similar sound, and they are LOUD!! Osprey are certainly things of beauty. Have a wonderful day, CynthiaM.
