I guess you could say I have been having a sort of stroke of bad luck. It could be alot worse...but it sure could be better. Here are a few of my not so favorite things this month.
-Greenhouse/coop doors are opened in the middle of the night by intruder
-Same night 2 brand new mature Muscovy ducks go missing
-Few nights later door is opened again
-Next night my Welsummer breeding pen wire is cut open and the hens and roo are all migling with others in the morning
-Over the winter I have lost 3 healthy American rabbits to a fast and furios ear infection which left me with 3 does and 2 bucks.
-Last American buck has eye infection now I cant seem to beat.
-I found my prefectly healthy 20 pound Flemish Giant dead this morning for no reason
-Then find 1 6 week old American baby limp with head tilted up...culled him.
-1 cage with 4 6 week old babies the feeder fell out and they hopped away. Only found 2.
-I have lost 4 litters now to poor mothering, aborting and just not getting the nest box in on time - which was totally my forgetful fault but still very frustrating!
-I sell starter plants at the farmers market. I planted 500 peppers and tomatoes. Kids and I transplanted them a week ago. Half of them died because of a huge temp spike in out garden shed when the fan didnt run.
-And I got carried away selling hens and now I have more buyers than I have eggs...after spending all of Feb and March trying to give away extra eggs.
Im getting just a tad tired and frustrated. I could use a little good luck any time I think. Sigh.
