Well I just typed a long post that I don't have the strength to re type that has just dissapeared on me. Long story short I am hospital have bad case of shingles along with a blood clot that likely came from my knee that I have being waiting 15 months now for a full replacement and the clot is in my lung along with a partial collaspe of that same lung.

I am going to drive my poor husband crazy with these things. I am in isolation so only the masked and gowned can see me(I feel so dirty) Anyway feeling somewhat better today but could be here for another 76 hours. I thought I was having a heart attack at first but close ennough.

Thank God for neighbours that you can call at 4:00 am in the morning about chores.

Oh wow that is a scary thing! Glad it wasn't a heart attack but sounds pretty serious nonetheless...I imagine it will be hard to breathe.
why the isolation? The shingles?
Glad you can at least "talk" to the world this way!
and yes Thank God for neighbours and in my case brothers-in-laws!

Heather if your neighbours need help, or if your dogs need anything or if YOU need anything, please get in touch. I know your husband works away at times.

I'll keep you in my thoughts and look forward to hearing that you're back on track.

My goodness Heather this is upsetting news to hear. For some reason it didn't occur to me the title of your post meant 'you were in the hospital'. I am so sorry to hear this and wish I was closer to be of help. I know how important your birds are to you and I hope you have the support you need to not worry about them.

Thank you so much for letting us know what is going on with you. Perhaps a silver lining to this is that your knee surgery will move to the top of the list.

Sending you a big, gentle hug and expecting a full recovery for you. I love you

Dawn

Get well soon, and even though Comfort hospitals are boring, they are the best place to be when you are unwell, and you have all of us to talk to.

Oh Heather, the lost post syndrome, sorry to hear that, many have experienced this thing. I hope you get well soon. Having had shingles along the nerve band below my armpit to the middle of my back, I know the pain of shingles, it is the most awful pain imaginable. The blood clot will be gone too, and you will be well again. you are fortunate that you have neighbours, for surely. Take care, rest, and you will be home again, lickety split. Take care, with wishes for a safe and good night, CynthiaM.

Shingles is a latent form of chicken pox, the virus that can be dormant in the spine, it can be contagious from what I hear, that is why the isolation. A person that has had chicken pox can have the same virus appear as shingles later in life, usually when one is under stress of some sort, be that physical or mental stress. me, it was the aftermath of shoulder surgery, my immune system was down and I was working too hard outside in the cold, shingles appeared....the horrible, painful thing it is.
