WOW there are a ton of them this year. People we know have lost calves to the coyotes.
I'm running electric all around the coops plus have 2 large dogs so we have been lucky.
Anyone else having trouble??

No (fingers crossed). We have them though. I hear them every night. Our coops are surrounded by a 7 foot deer fence which I know is a big deterrent but not totally coyote proof. We may do electrical fencing this year.

On this topic: do coyotes hunt during the day?

Coyotes will definitely hunt during the day. I had a pair just come and pick off one of my momma cats, I had 3 left, all 3 awesome mousers, and am now down to 2. I was soo mad, I didn't see them until they were too far away to get a shot off at them. Sad

Agreed. They are horrid this year. I sat straight up in bed last night at about 1 am because I could hear them calling. They were one fence away from my cattle. They tend to stay on the fringes of the farm, but close enough to take something and run. We will be trapping this year. No doubt about it.
