A gun and someone standing post ? Not much that a dog will do with a badger as well ! Put up a barrier wall of wire so that the critters don't have easy access ? Badgers are not something to take lightly , when cornered or threatened they will defend them selves with full force , and they are very strong , and they can move fast as well ! I would try to find the den and then dispose of them !

Your poor flock must be terrified. Do you have access to a live trap? From what I’ve read badgers can be trapped quite easily, than safely disposed of. I was able to borrow a live trap from our R.M. office after the fox attack last year, so maybe check with yours. Badgers are extremely bad tempered, so please be careful. Good luck!

Buried chain link. They will probably try to find an easier food supply- but watch for signs of digging!

I really don't know if they would have a live trap that would hold a badger ? They can be explosive when caught ! Even a bullet if not placed correctly will not do any damage ! Find the den , any small hill , hump on the land would be a great place to start , and there would be a trail leading to it as well , just be carefull ! they don't like confrontation

Maybe you should try Kryptonite.

You could venture into raising free-range badgers...
