April Weather !

UGH. I heard all of southern SK is looking at a foot more water than a few years ago. Not good.

Looks like wind and flurries here today.

Oh Heda I feel for you, my only consolation to you is its really cold and windy here.

Well after 3 days of strong winds I'd rather have snow than wind. And yes, it is cold too.

Got another skiff of snow, cold and blowing. Blugh.

Yea , they changed the forecast for us as well ! colder temps next week again with a chance of SNOW !!!! Really ??

Yesterday was one of those days where you take out your tools to work on something and immediately put them away before you get too wet. No snow or rain here today, but a very damp, cold north wind. We were noticing yesterday that the tulips are up but no sign of flowers. They are flowering in town, but not higher up the mountain.

Still Looks like winter to me ?!!

Tundra swan family on stop over....

No snow here, but a bit of sunshine spiced with a very cold north wind. When you are outside it is hard to decide between a warm hat and a cost zipped all the way up or a ball cap with the coat buttons undone. Love the photo of the geese on the lake.

A lot of our snow has melted but the ground around the house is just MUD (all caps mud is the worst kind). We JUST finished getting our electrical, gas, water lines, and septic dug when the snow flew for the first time last year so we had no time to get some grass going. We just need a few days of warmer temps and wind and we'd be able to move around our yard so much easier!

Finally had a nice weekend. Looks like it's cooled off again though. Nothing can really get growing.

Can't complain. it's still better than snow.

There is still four feet of snow between my studio and the outhouse (hey, rustic is part of my brand) so I have been schlepping people to the main house to use the bathroom.

There's also a few feet of snow to melt before I can really start working on my chicken coop. I am about a month behind schedule at this point.

We still have 10ft drifts in our yard, several of them, though we are creeping closer and closer to the house on the driveway. My gardens are still covered, however I went traipsing through snow yesterday and found much of it is melted or very loose and light beneath an initial one inch or so of icy slushiness.

With these warm temperatures coming the middle of the week, I should be good to go on the main garden soon and be able to throw down peas, beets, potatoes, broccoli, spinach *sniffle*, carrots... onions.. and.. and... *CRYYYY*

We took a bus load ofkids to Regina for a track meet,long day ,left at 7ooam got home at 130 am,drive was good till just after Moose Jaw then, it was back into winter driving 70k following a plow.There's lots of snow on the fields and with that heavy clay not sure they'll even be able to seed.It'll be late seeding here but at least the crop should get in,I've got 6000 acres to seed so there will be some awfully long days not my land just my job

Bright blue sky and sun this morning. I said SUN, did you hear me?! Nice to have blue sky and sun without rain, hail, flurries and wind we have had over the past week. Could it finally be over!!??

I don't know ? I was talking with a farmer friend and he was saying that it's getting close to the Corn planting time and it doesn't look good for the farmers ,which in the end doesn't look good for the consumer !Just strange weather this year !! I should be tilling in a week from now if every thing to normal .......but DUH !!Good for you that have ""normal "" weather ,wish we could see some in the horizon as well ....
