What carriers have you used to ship eggs and how was your experiences?
I have used Canada Post, the start of the year was really bad, lots of broken eggs, but lately they have been pretty good.
I have used Purolator, so far all the packages have arrived on time or early, and only 1 package with a couple cracked eggs. They are a tad more expensive though.
I have also used UPS overnight delivery, not sure what the cost was as the receiver used their business account to pay, but got from here to Eastern Ontario overnight, there at 9 am.

A breeder on the West Coast swears by Greyhound Bus Lines. Is that an option for you out there?

I just did my first greyhound shipment - Cbrook Kelly can let us know how it went Smile

I have used Canada Post also, and was happy, nothing arrived broken but the cost DID increase between quoting the person and sending the eggs 3 weeks later, which was quite disappointing. Also, CanadaPost doesn't offer priority shipping from my area, which is pretty frustrating. I have to drive one hour to Victoria to get priority shipping. Sad

I sent one bunch to Ontario priority and they arrived the next day(Canada Post). I received one from Ont, after 2 days (priority). One came from Quebec priority and it took 4 days. One from Sak priority and it took 2 days. ALL were to require a signature. One was just placed in my mailbox, one I was asked to sign for (while stranded on the road) and one came to my door but no signature required (?????)

I received a bunch of eggs last week right on time with Canada Post from a freind in ON, all were fine, that being said, I shipped a standard to ON last week and it arrived completely wrecked, so who knows! The joys of Canada Post, haha.

Jayme, Arn't you using ACE courier to ship some things to someone in Central Alberta on Monday? I was going to have them take some eggs from me to the same customer so they could pick them both up at once but ACE courier said that they don't go into Sask, just Alberta and B.C. Do you take the goods across the border into Alberta?

Yes I have to drive them to Medicine Hat, 40 min from my house. But they do a good job of getting them to where they need to go so worth it for me. I do other errands to make it pay.
