Is anyone interested in joining in on a purchase of a specially formulated seed blend for intensive rotational pasturing for sheep and/or pigs and/or chickens?
It's a bit of an unconventional blend of seed, designed for year around rotation, and based on permaculture techniques that provide a variety for the animals, using grasses and legumes that can stand up to the rotational type of pasturing while allowing animals access to plants that may help to reduce parasite infestations. Though considered experimental here, these systems are greatly used in Europe for rotational grazing. Because it's unconventional, some of the seeds in the mix are expensive, so this seed blend won't be cheap.
I've researched the seed blend to suit the acidic soils of the coast, the wetter climate with potential drought in summer, and based on proven similar formulas.
The more seed ordered, the better the price. One 45 lb bag will seed just over an acre, with 35lbs per acre recommended. If there are enough people interested in smaller amounts, I may be willing to break up into smaller bags and ship it.
