You can buy shade cloth with gromets in Princess Auto, they are actually made to holds stuff in the back of a pickup so not overly large. I have purchased shade cloth by the foot (12 ft tall by whatever length you want) at our local co-op as well but it has no gromets in it.

How many years does shade cloth last?

At least 2 of the ones I put up here have been around the dog kennels at the other place for 3 years. It does tear eventually but it is nice that the air can go thru it and it doesn't act like a bit parachute the way tarps can. Rain will go thru it and I am not sure how the top one will hold up to snow. I am hoping the wind here stops to much accumulations. Rolling Eyes

I have one more length of it and it may go at the other end in the summer. I was just trying to give them a dryish sorta protected area when they first some out of the coop. No roof over this outside run I am afraid....

Good to know Hidden. I may have a look next time in town. Not sure if Airdrie has a Princess Auto or not.

Airdrie doesn't but there is one on the North end of Calgary near the Airport.

I am so jealous! Everything is so beautiful and symmetrical..... LOVE it! Ours is always a hodge podge of whatever fits, where ever it fits.  Hubby always insists that function is more important than fashion.  Judging from your beautiful set up it is possible to have both!

Hubby hasn't seen it really in the daylight yet I don't think. I shone the flash light on it one night and his comment was 'that is quite the complex'! lol

I wish I could cover the runs a bit some how, but that may be in the future. I have to go with it now.

Spent all day hauling wheel barrows full of gravel to reinforce the edges. I am hoping it packs down well and between the dogs and tough gravel it will put off any little diggers we have.

There is something living in the line of round bales half way up or drive. All dogs responded to something today. Went cautiously for a look and cat jumped on the round bale and proceeded to have every hair standing on end. My thoughts were skunk as the yellow dog looked like he does with the black and white cat sometimes, but now I think it may be the fox that has been seen trotting up the drive. What ever it is, I hope it gets the hint it is not welcome here and stays down there.

I'd bet fox: we had one living in the round bales all last winter. I didn't realize until every round bale had a "deposit" on it!
