Some of the best beef I ever had was from jerseys that we bought and finished on grass at home. The fat was yellow and the meat was tender. The size of the cuts was perfect. Best "lamb" I ever had was from a 16 month old ram that we kept to breed the ewes and then we ate him. Again all grass finished. Wonderful, tender and great flavour. The best meat I ever had (and I likes my meat) was a two year old moose I got a couple of years ago. No grain feed for that boy. The flavour was the best ever.
