The geese had sooooo much fun today in their new pool. Hauling the 40gallons of water after already filling the 3 heated water buckets and 2 smaller pools for the ducks was not much fun though. The garden area where the geese is MUCH deeper snow as it's close to the driveway leaving it to get the snow blown all winter and its sheltered with the green house, duck and pony shelter on one side and the house on the other so the snow just sits there. I have a 4ft fence around the garden area and then there is electric fence strung up above that to keep horsey heads from helping themselves to my garden in greener months Smile So that tub is sitting up on about 4ft of hard packed snow

Lucy watching Romeo enjoy that pool

Nope won't win any photography awards for composition etc but their joy made me smile and I enjoyed capturing those moments Smile

I think those pics WOULD win awards! Could joy be more perfectly captured than those geese in that tub of water? I loved those pics..and my heart broke for you with all that snow! But the geese sure were bright.

Yah watching their joy was worth the hauling of all that water. It's super hard pack so you can see behind the pool where I made myself a path walking up on 4ft of snow with my full buckets to go down the snow hill to fill the ducky mini pools and the heated water buckets. In the first pic you can see the opening into my greenhouse (coroplast (sp?) building behind them) thats been broken above because the snow is so high we keep having to dig their hole out. In summer I have a ramp so they can get up into the opening Shocked

Oh down to -15 tonight so hopefully water pool doesn't freeze too much

Wonderful photos! I love this time of year - lots of snow but all that brilliant sunshine! Funny that in the summer photo the geese are in the water too...

Great pics, thanks for sharing. I love to see other peoples places. It looks fantastic in the summer, can't stand looking at the snow, have had way too much of it this year. I love when the geese get to play in water whenthey haven't had it for a while, pure joy.

Haha Uno

So last night -19 today we got up to a whopping +1 but it was blindingly sunny and we spent all day outside. The pool fun yesterday and suddenly it was a duck egg laying explosion last night! No eggs except from khakis for awhile but today I had an egg from nearly all my ducks! Even got our first black egg but unfortunately we weren't expecting eggs so checked later and all were frozen.

The goose pool this morning was frozen so we threw 5 gallons on top and waited for ice to melt enough and hubby hauled the ice out for me as it was heavy!

Roo is super heavy and has been squabbling with Bourbon turkey tom so lost all his pretty long tail feathers

The goat is wondering if 2 years is really too old to eat!.

Great photos again! We are in a world of long long icicles. Must get some photos before they are gone.

Carnivorous wether LOL No I think the old saying should be curiousity got the goat not cat haha I had another great shot set up but little goats mom stuck her nose in my lens and then used me as a scratching post

Those icicles behind my son all fell soon after the pic. It's melting FAST now, going to be a big mushy mess very soon

So loving the sunshine though Very Happy
