My daughter has a chocolate potluck at school tommorow. We decided to make chocolate meringues. I think my kids are going to be sick from eating so much "batter". Feels good to be able to let them! Just went out to collect for the recipe. Doesn't get fresher than that!

Hee, hee! Razz

(I am surprised I have not succumbed to the deadly egg yet!)

Gotta say, as a previous major in Microbiology and a soon ( I hope)- to - be nurse, I have no qualms about it!

It super easy. From All Recipes. This recipe is adjusted for fifty meringues.
9 egg whites
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
1 1/2tsp vanilla
1 3/4 cups plus 2Tbsp sugar
2Tbsp plus 2 1/4 tsp cocoa powder
3/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp Xbox chips

Preheat oven to 300
Combine egg whites, cream of tartar, vanilla. Best until whites form soft peaks. Slowly add sugar. Beat until stiff peaks form and mixture becomes glossy. Cold in Cocoa and chic chips.
Drop mixture by tsp onto greased cookie sheet bake for 25-30 minutes.
Enjoy!

I don't know what a meringue is to eat like that? I know of meringue on pie, but what is this and how do you eat it? What does it taste like? I wonder if I would like it? Would my Husband? Oh so many questions and it never ceases. Beautiful day wishes to us all, CynthiaM.

Cynthia meringues like this are actually hard, they are more like sponge toffee. I love them, never tried making any myself and never had chocolate! Going to definately try this out.

Good grief! I need to learn to proofread before I hit submit! Luckily I can cook better than I can type!

Poor Susan, spend a little time away from the computer and we all pick on you. Not a nice bunch, are we? Well, not all. Some are nice. Not me. OK, shutting up now.

Lol chic chips, otherwise known as Xbox chips can be easily made at home. Take one woman, tired of husband playing video games all the time. During an especially important point in the game, take large meat mallet and strike directly on top of said Xbox. Voila: chic chips!
