how long does it take to dry

HI I bathed 4 of the 9 birds for the weekend show. How long do they
take to dry? Man I even blew dried the silkies and the orp hen. They
are still wet. My old Black and Decker hair dryer bit the dust. It had
to be 25 years old or more. ANyway The bird are in the basement with a
heater on so they won't get chilled but I hope they don't take too long
to dry.

Depending how soaked they got a couple days maybe to look normal. If they are really soaking wet. Average wetshould be a few hours.

Did you roll them up in a towel like a cinnamon bun?

are they in one of your Boxer Crates in the Basement? if so I would also put in some straw it will help soak some of the wet.
After they are somewhat dry then I would put shavings also is it a forced air heater if so that should help dry them
I would say they should be dry by the show
I bathed 5 this morning and dryed them with my dog dryer have 2 more to do
They are in the basement and everytime one makes a noise the dogs start barking

HI Yes they are in large wire dog crates. I did roll them in a towel
and did their nails. But the instructions I got said to only pat them
dry not to rub or anything else. Maybe they weren't in the towels long
enough. They are warm so won't get chilled but I don't like them being
wet/damp. I have to buy another blow dryer. My standing dog dryer works
but you can't raise it that adjuster is broken. My dogs are used to
chickens int he basement . Thats where I rasie all my chicks.

Sounds like you are doing it right LOL
My dogs are use to the chicks as I hatch and raise them in the house also they are just not use to the Australorp Roo Crowing and the Ameraucana Pullet making noise
Oh well they will get use to it.

SO what all are you Taking to the show?

When I am drying birds I also turn on my dehumidifier in the basement. It helps. Basements can be damp.

The gentle cycle in the dryer might work...
