Hi everyone from sunny Winfield, BC
Hope your summer is going great.
I wasn't sure where to post this one. i figure the moderators will move it if it is in the wrong place.
I have maybe got the chance to obtain some standard Cassidy Strain Barred rocks. I can remember as a kid going to my first poultry show (10 years old) and seeing these fantastic barred rocks. The Cassidy strain has been around for nearly a 100 years and is still recognized for its quality of barring. I am thinking of getting a trio but thought if anyone else was interested we might be able to split the shipping. It is a chance to get an excellent line of great barred rocks and help keep the strain a live. a true heritage breed.
I found the following information on another page on the net.
The Canadian Plymouth Rock club can be traced well back over 50 years. Many believe that the late Mr.C.V.Cassidy was responsible for the founding of the club, He was best known for his breeding and exhibition of some of the finest standard Barred Rocks of his time. His name is still synonomous with Barred Rocks today. His Line of Barred Rocks are still bred to this day.
if interested let me know.
