So I know its like, -30 out there (for some of us) but lets think happy thoughts! What do you want to try this spring? Grand plans of increasing your garden? New varrieitys? Soil amendments?
Personally, I have about a bajillion things I want to try. Last year was my first year with "my own garden," and it was a huge learing year. If you would like to see some of it, try [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] We were incredibly bussy last summer, and as a result, my Mantra has become "More Organized!" I'm working on a "garden calender" today, listing when I have to plant the "start indoors" seeds, when I'd like to have the compost spread ect.
I have a large garden, a rough guess puts it at about 70'X50' but the soil isn't fantastic, at least for around here. I beleive theirs quite a bit of clay in it, and the topsoil isnt that thick. So organic matter is a first request, especially for the south east corner. I'd like to turn that area into a flower garden, lots of bee and bug freindly plants. And lilies. I love lilies!
Other hopefull additions include: Golden raspberries, a saskatoon patch (mmmmm!!)
Hopefull removals: Weeds. Oh sweet skies, so many weeds! And less squashes. They invaded everything last year!
So my freinds, what are your spring time dreams?
