I have read that Buckeye chicks do better on higher protein game bird starter. Have you found this to be true? I don't mind doing that, but I was wondering if that would be bad for the other layer breeds I am getting. I read that ISA browns do better long term if they aren't forced into early laying by feeding high protein feed but I don't know if it would harm leghorn-type layers. Any advice?

I never fed anything different to my buckeye chicks,. and actually do not really see any need to. They grow up just fine. Have an awesome day, CynthiaM.
