I am a;

6 year old chicken.
8 year old cow.
7 year old duck.
8 year old goat.
16 year old horse.
11 year old pig.
8 year old sheep.

That chicken one makes me feel old. I always figured chickens were older than that at 6 years.

Well, Dorothy is going to be 27 in August...and no, that's not months, that's years. Her feet are lumpy and her eyes are cloudy, but she can still see a little and flys well. She lays a few months of the year and her eggs still hatch. I have her locked up with Gerry and will set any eggs she lays. Beckie, our kid, is 30, and I have a picture of Beckie at about 3, with Dorothy on her shoulder. Dorothy was a chick then. I think their calculator might be a bit off, grin. Horses make 22 to 30, usually, and doe goats are older than the table says...cows too. Cows make 13 to 20, but they are often culled before that in a commercial milking herd.

Yup, sounds about right. Dorothy is not banded though, so she won't ever make the record books as there is no way to prove her age. Her face is not getting red yet, so she may not lay this year. Wait and see, grin. Her mother was in good health right up to the end, then I found her under the roost one morning. She died a few hours later, apparently quite peacefully. Maybe Dorothy will be the same.
