there is a cyclone over the top of NZ right now, I keep track of things like this cause my family live there. My Mum does too and she sent me this link for an animated global wind/temp view of what is happening.

"earth" in the bottom left and you get some info on the map you are viewing, temperature and wind sort of thing. I'm still working it out. Pretty cool though

and you can turn the globe, like on google earth, oh oh oh, and you can see the ocean currents too! ok, the more I play with the legend I see there is so much you can see, like wind, temp, cloud, ocean currents, precipitation, you can change the way you see the map, see what's happening on the other side of the world. It is really quite amazing.
