for 75 and 100 watt bulbs goes into effect at the end of the month.

I've been stocking up.  I use 100 watt in my brooder box.

I should add, baby chicks aside, I don't find those CFL's to be all they're cracked up to be. No good outside in the cold and they don't have anywhere near the claimed lifespan (in my experience).

thanks Fowler. I will stock up too. I don't like those cfl's, have mercury in them. every time we break one it is released and you have to open windows quickly etc. a little now and then is so - so but after a while it will build up and that is a problem. I wonder about safe disposal of them. we will likely find ourselves using the LED options.

We are banning these type of light bulbs and in Europe they banned the light bulbs with the mercury in them.
