I have a request for some quail eggs. I generally don't ship this time of the year but would like to help the person out. Has anyone ever shipped eggs with a heating pad? How long does it last? I used a foam egg shipper from US. Would that maybe enough protection?

Just looking for ideas or any tips you might have.

I was shipping eggs early last year. I bought mini styrophrom coolers from the dollar store plus hand hot packs.

I wrapped each egg with bubble wrap then placed them in egg cartons and wrapped that in bubble wrap. The eggs that went the farthest was saskatoon in febuary. I also packed the eggs using up some old (not used just extra) diapers to line the cooler so nothing could move plus about 4 hot packs. The package sat in saskatoon over the weekend in an unknown location and the eggs ended up having a 100% hatch!

As long as they are well insulated plus some hot packs and not taking a week to get anywhere they should be ok.
