guinea keets colors ?

bought 28 guinea keets that were supposedly from colored guineas .
all but 2 seem to actually be pearl colored ones
Do some of the colored guineas get their final colors at a later date ?
all the birds are now fully feathered

How old are the guineas. We have 5 left here from our colored flock and it is still very hard to tell what they will be in the end. My slates were the first I could tell the color on last year.

The ones you purchased from me came from my pen of Slate, Chocolate, Buff, Purple, Pinto and Blue, so depending on who the mom and dad are would depend on the final color of the babies. So far I have not seen any pure Slate or Chocolate yet. Mine are all looking either Pinto, one is starting to get darker so guessing will be a purple.

If you can post pictures I might be able to help you out a bit, but best to wait till they are closer to the 5-6 months of age to know for sure.

so all the keets i bought will be other colors than pearl is that what you are saying
i does not really matter what colors to me i just do not want pearls since i already have a bunch of them
just wanted other color ones to
have another bloodline than the ones i have already

As far as I know these other colors are generated by the wild pearl coloring, so when mixing them back together there is no guarantee that some pearl might not come through. My pearl male and lavender females were free ranging so not in the group that you got, so if you have some pearls from me then it was the mix of the colors that caused it. I am guessing based on the colors of the babies when you got them that you will have a few pinto's (the ones with more white than color) and purples, that is the colors we tend to have here right now if I am guessing correctly. But these chocolate ones looked pearl as youngsters, wasnt until they got older the brown hue came out in them. So just wait and see is all I can say.

the pintos is the 2 i knew would be color ones so i gather the other one will most likely be purples or a darker color
