I am a lucky lucky girl

I am lucky that a friend here in the okanagan has decided to make a major move and has offered me the chance to purchase some of his birds.

Soooo I took home yesterday 2 pairs of call ducks! One pair of beautiful white call that came from Dan Jerome in washington and a pair of butterscotch calls from J & J (Im pretty sure its J & J?)call ducks in manitoba. I am really excited to have these beautiful little creatures and the challange of hatching "showy" call eggs.

I am also going to be purchasing his Australorpe flock with a great mix of blood lines from some of the best breeders in BC and also a breeder in california. The cockerel has a touch of frost bite right now but I am hoping he will rebound for breeding season.

Just thought I would share about my new recruits. I have been giddy for 2 days now and hubby just does not understand!

Sounds like some nice stock! J&J won a bunch of the prizes at the Red Deer show in December. I really love the look of the little call ducks

Well isn't that just a wonderful thing to hear, good for you, no wonder you are feeling giddy, smiling. I would be too. Call ducks are beautiful, as are the Australorpes and you and gonna have some honkin' wonderful new critters to grace your yards. Wow.
