Did anyone else see this tonight? I think on Knowledge Network. A man who hatches wild turkeys and lives with them for a year - doesn't see anyone else, learns to "speak turkey" and bonds with them. Beautifully shot, especially nice to see on a bitter cold autumn night. Reminds me of why turkeys are just so special - even if they aren't wild...Recommend it highly.

Husband said (from behind the newspaper) "Guess he wasn't married".

I did! Loved it... a friend of mine has cuddly turkeys, and until this year I had no idea they were so smart or affectionate. It amazes me how different some peoples' lives are- he spent every single day from dawn til dark with those turkeys.. no exceptions. That is some serious dedication! Really well done documentary. Interesting how the turkeys had different vocalizations for different types of snakes, and how they chased off all the snakes, even the big scary venomous ones!
I know he's a scientist and his cabin is probably paid off, but the realist part of my brain asks how did he pay his bills, get supplies, etc... all the details of life? Life really IS exactly what we make of it...
