You were looking for a Silkie hen, how about a trade?

Ok, ok, I have to ask. You said this was a pullet, which means a young hen, but turned out to be a cockerel. So, what happened to the feathers on the neck? Is the dude moulting? I am sorry, I don't get it, but a very pretty looking bird, nonetheless, have that wonderful day, CynthiaM.

Hi Cynthia- Showgirls are a unrecongized variety of Silkie. They are a necked neck Silky, just like the Transalvia Naked Neck large and bantam fowl.
The naked neck on poultry is a surpising strong gene that can be accomplished in just 1 generation crossing to a naked neck bird.

Heather, oh brother, now you have me really smiling. I have heard of Showgirl silkies and I just thought that it was like someone bragging about the quality of the silkie that they have. This is so funnnnnnneeeee. I am so out of the loop sometimes. So Showgirl silkies are naked neck silkies. That is wonderful information to know, and today I learned just a little bit more, yay!! Learning is such a good thing. I actually think that the naked neck breeds look pretty ding, dang, cool, although I would not want to own one, I would be wanting to put a scarf on them Very Happy . Beautiful days, CynthiaM.

ha ha lol! Triple J Farms, the same thing happened to me with my young rabbits. I was going to put all my females together in a big cage for the winter and I tipped 2 of them over around and they turned into males!! Smile
