And that means lockdown, wheee! cyclops bounce

So I just finished candling for the last time and will be locking down 39 eggs tomorrow morning; 14 EE and 25 Ameraucana. I’m pretty darn hyped about this hatch (can’t ya tell? Razz ) BUT I’m also nervous Nellie because I want these chicks in a baaad way.

Now I have a question if I may - because my air cells are a tad on the small side due to higher than normal outside humidity, should I wait for the first external pip to up my humidity to 60-65%, or should I up it just before locking down like usual? Or maybe I should leave humidity as is? scratch Right now it’s sitting at 52% - and this is with the bator lid propped up on one side with an eraser.

Any advise/opinions is most appreciated, TIA. Smile

Well, I'm obviously over thinking this. LoL Anyhoo, I decided to compromise and increased humidity slightly (it’s between 50-54% right now) and will bump up to 60% when I spot an external pip.

And so begins the waiting game. Laughing

yes best of luck, hope its a great hatch for you, so nervewracking waiting I know, especially whenyou are really counting on them....
helps to get real busy and go away or something on hatch day, then the joy of coming home to lots of cheeping!!!

Thanks miry. It probably wouldn't be half as stressful if there was ONE perfect way to do things and not so many variables to content with. I hate second guessing every decision I make...why can't eggs be transparent? Ha ha.

I’ve come to the conclusion I need another hobby to distract me from this hobby. Razz
