If haven't yet had a chance to attend a POAA auction, you'll want to make plans to get to this one! These sales have been taking place for the past 30 years or so, and they have an excellent reputation. There is always a good selection of chickens in many different breeds and varieties, plus baby chicks and often poults and ducklings.
What I often find most interesting though are the rare and exotic bird species like fancy pheasants, peafowl and waterfowl. At the sale last fall there were even Magpie Geese, Paradise Shelducks, Ruddy Shelducks, Wood Ducks, Mandarins, 75% Java Green Peafowl, Vulturine Guinea fowl and Peach Golden Pheasants, so definitely some unusual and hard-to-find birds!
