Are these any good? How are they to clean? Any issues that anyone knows of? I have seen one for sale in my area for $425, like new. Reason for selling, wanting a larger one.

Thoughts?

I don't have the humidity pump, but I love my Octagon 40!

Easy to clean.

I have a bag of water, a turkey roaster and a light bulb. Humidity? What humidity? Pfft on humidity.

(interior humidity in the house right now hovers around 68%. It's HORRIBLE in here!)

Psst... Don't mention humidity around Uno. It makes her mental.

I love my Brinsea Octagon 20 Advance. I've had no problems with it at all. Well, except for the fact that it only holds 24 eggs Razz  Though that may be a good thing cuz it keeps me from hatching out more chicks in a batch than I'm set up to handle at this point in my life. Very Happy

An ovaeasy 190 at about $1000.  Is better deal in my opinion.  And you dont realy need the humidity pump.

Totally agree here. The only advantage of that humidity pump is you can leave for 24 hours without filling the humidity tray.

I was lucky enough to find one for $800 used.

Yes, it will be the same one. lol

On a slightly different note, if I am getting suggestions for larger incubators anyway, what brand/model/price to watch for would all of you recommend for approximately 50 eggs? I can't see us going larger than that for our use.

The Octagon 40 holds 48 eggs. Smile

I think if I went larger than that, it would be dangerous.

Totally, that could be grounds for divorce over here Razz
Although...  between my Oct 20, the mini, a couple broodies and if I'm desperate enough to fire up the old crapobator, hmmm, let's see, 24+9+18ish+48, heh heh heh Twisted Evil   well still keeping it under 100 LOLOLOL

I've been wanting the 40 in a big way.

Just because a cabinet incubator can hold 190 eggs at one time doesn't mean you have to fill it up.  I can set one tray per week for 3 weeks and then hatch in the bottom.  Often I put duck eggs in the bottom so I can hand turn them.
No plastic parts, sturdier built, less affected by room temp fluctuations and better resale value is why I think cabinet incubators are bettr bang for your buck than tabletops.
I bet 90% of us on here swore at one time " i will never need a bigger incubator honey" and just look at us now! Twisted Evil
