Not as fancy yet as their male counterparts but the girls do have a certain sense of style, they pose pretty well for the camera I think!
They are to have the same downward sloping back and 45% tail angle as the boys. I like to see a nice high chest as well. Same comb as well just smaller.
I like how well the girls grew this year, I fed them a 20% protein ration. Now they are getting half whole red spring wheat which they love to scratch for.
APA standard weight for a dom pullet is only 4 lb. Hens can weigh 5 lb.
So maybe not the best choice if you want a big carcass. I do believe though as with cattle breeds, the smaller the frame the more efficient the weight gain per pound.
