momma did her job

So I had a hen who I thought wanted to set, so in goes the eggs. She was not to dedicated at first, she would set all day and get on the roost at night so I never though she would hatch any. She started to set all day and night after about a week. Now she has four little chicks following her around.

isnt that amazing that for the first week she could leave them for the night and they still hatched!   pretty darn cool

Nice! I've never had a RIR go broody.

Cool! It's amazing how broodies can "get away" with things that we would never dare do with an incubator. Good job, Momma!
