Is it really June 3?

We have snow and 0 right now at 10:30 am. Yuuuuuuck!! I thought we were done with winter!! I am not sure what it actually got down to last night, but nasty wind all night also. My poor pumpkins which are just starting to bloom are not doing so well. My older chicks and chickens are also not caring much for this weather. Guess it is christmas in June. We have snow and I got my first little chick hatched out by my dutch mille fleur. She has 6 more eggs under her.

YIKES!!!! That sounds like quite a rude way to wake up in the morning!

I thought that we should be safe from snow by now, I know that may long weekend we usually seem to have some snow, but don't remember ever getting snow in June!

Wow Smokey that is crazy weather, although it was the last weekend in May last year we had the Red Deer sale and there was snow.
I hope it melts away quickly and your pumpkins are not worse for wear.
There was a tornado watch here yesterday, Track and Field was cancelled due to severe thunder storms, and my In law's in Shaunavon actually got hit with the tornado, they call it a mild tornado but still the farm North of town got hit pretty hard, their 50 000 bushel bins got tossed around like toys, all the grain in them gone...What a year they are having. And golf ball sized hail just east of them.
I think you are right when you say we will be singing dreaming of a green summer, although with all the moisture we have gotten it is very green right now. Just dreaming of a WARM summer...

I am an hour away from smokyriver... I can relate. Here was my place around 11 this morning. After the snow had lightened up. I totally feel your pain smoky.

not cool, it's darn cold!! LOL I feel pity on my poor hubby who is out welding on this wet cold day.

I saw a guy on the weather channel going on about how we will have a hotter that normal summer pretty much right across Canada the other day. So you can look forward to that although it doesn't help now when you're looking out at snow. However, I think I hear the same guy going on about the same thing last year the year we never really had summer.

BTW, where in Alberta is Tangent?

This is what I woke up to. So depressing. I covered a bunch of my plants with sheets - don't know if that was good or bad now.

We are located about half way between Grande Prairie and Peace River. If you blink you would miss us driving by! LOL

Wow. Feeling for all of you. What a drag. We have a sunny day here today with a high of 27 and it feels long overdue. Makes me appreciate it even more. Hang in there.

We also got a light dusting of snow this morning and there is a definite chill in the air...I'm almost ready to pack up and head back to Nanaimo.
