june or july???

o.k i cancelled the glen park critter & craft sale due to the new directors being difficult but i have my eyes set on a new venue, that i can get this june or july what month would you attend if you were to come? end of june or end of july? i was thinking june,8th or 15th or 22nd weekend , or can be july as always...
this is a all indoor venue BTW close to edmonton, leduc, wetaskiwin....

I always liked the July sale. At that time I was already culling for the winter and had plenty of older birds ready to go. Also, I dont work in July.

Sue makes a good point. I'd be more likely to attend in July, because then I don't have to worry about school-related things.

Also, not a lot of sales competition in July.

but i have had some goo dpoints brought to my attention.... july feels more like "getting rid of animals for the fall/ winter not buying where as june feels still more early? when i chb having their sale anyone hear of when their spring/ summer sales are??

I did hear that CHB is having a lawn sale at Sunnybrook in Red Deer mid or end of July this year...
I see that Sunnybrook hasnt updated their site yet for events 2013 but at the show in November, they had a brochure made up and Im pretty sure it was mid July for the CHB event there.

Marsha and I were talking this moring. We feel that June is a better time for a sale as everyone including us are thinking about down sizing in July. As sellers we have found that we make better sales earlier in the seasons. Just our thoughts.

yea i tend to have to agree, i was thinking june15th weekend actually, or june 29...

IF you did it the end of June kids would still be out of school and more might be able to attend.
I know CHB did themiddle of June last year and I had a hard time selling day old chicks there, but started pullets and pairs did well, and started ducks.

The later you do it, the older the birds will be, and possibly be better quality due to being later culls.

July is "Summer" time to get rid of the spring babies, not buy.
Kids are out of school, time to go on a holiday.
Golf, Baseball, Fishing, boating people have plans, time to relax.
If its +35 the day before, no way im going to chase a bunch of birds around to load them up, and have them overheat.
By July, people have already purchased all the birds they want in March, April, May and June!

If its in July, I can say im 99% sure I wouldn't be able to attend.

Very good points everyone I am still as well leaning towards june as I originally planned for this year.... Hard choices to make for stuff like this! I am meeting him friday and I will have a date by friday
