I have for sale some 20 or so white Chantecler chicks. I've raised white Chanteclers for close to 5 years. Here's a little bit about what I've done with them;
With my white Chanteclers I started out with a proven line and have produced some quality offspring from them. Three years ago I managed to obtain another great line of Chanteclers from a fellow Chantecler breeder who was retiring and was looking to place some of his best birds with an interested breeder. The crossing of these lines has given me some exceptional offspring including a cockerel that won Champion American and Reserve Champion Junior Large Fowl Chicken at the Canadian National in Armstrong, British Columbia in November 2011. In the spring of 2011 I added some birds to my flock that I hatched from eggs which came from out East. I ended up with some fantastic birds from this cross. All of my Chanteclers have correct cushion combs and good body type. I have two 6 year old hens and one 5 year old hen that are laying eggs just as steadily as my pullets. It is rare to see such good egg production in older hens. These are tough, vigorous birds with great longevity. These hens do retain a natural brooding instinct but I have never let one set, valuing them too highly to take them out of the breeding pen.
As well as the chicks I have the cock mentioned above who I'd like to see go to someone interested in breeding white Chanteclers. I will be selling at the Critters and Crafts Sale this weekend in Milo or they would be available for on farm pickup. As mentioned in the title these are the last of my White Chanteclers, I will not be raising them after this year. Hoping the birds will go to someone who will continue to work with them.
