Someone said I should post this so here goes ............

It's hard to look out into the pasture,
...and not see you there.
It's hard to know that all I have is a piece of your hair.
I'll miss your attitude, your looks, and the twinkle in your eye,
It's hard to know you're gone,
It's hard to say good bye.

It's hard to look out into the pasture
and not see you there.
It's hard to fill the space in my heart
It feels empty; there's only air.
If I had one more chance,
I wouldn't change a thing.
If I could touch your face again,
If I could cry on your shoulder, just one last time.
Then maybe, just maybe
I could find the strength to say goodbye

Ah Prairie Dog if I could give you a hug right now I sure would. And Uno too. And anyone else who has lost a much-loved horse. Coopslave, you're there too aren't you?

I had to say goodbye to both my boys in November. I have yet to really speak about it as it was life-altering. My entire way of life changed in the plunge of a syringe. It was a well-thought-out decision, made in the fashion that Uno described so well - with the best interest of my friends front and centre, but man, it really broke my heart and I think I may be done with horses because I don't think I could go through that again, and sometimes you have to.

Better to be safe I guess.

Sending out a hug for your pain, and my thanks for a very beautiful poem and tribute.

p.s. I saved some of their tail hair too, thinking I'd make something with it. I can't even hold it without crying though. It kills me that it doesn't smell like them anymore.

Prairie Dog, FarmChiq. Yes, thank you, I know, I'm with you. I have a hank of hair too. Perfect poem. FarmChiq, I know what you had to do, and I know that even now, it is a fresh wound. I stand beside you.

So well said, simply beautiful. I am so sorry for what I know is a loss that changes you forever. As time passes, you will start to remember the wonderful times you shared and the pain will lessen little by little.

I missed this post. Beautiful pictures of the horses. Such sadness there has been on our forum, I am wishing all the sadness to lessen, and life to carry on with more happiness, CynthiaM.
