We went out to the Cowichan Poultry fancier show this past weekend and had fun!

Huge congrats to all ribbon winners! Thanks for posting those results Heather. It was very nice to meet you! Every time I go to a show, it amazes me how much a person learns about the way the show is run. Pointers of all kinds by those of you that have been doing this awhile with such success. I am looking forward to taking in the next show.

One of my favourite Cornish pics I have ever taken. It really shows the unique traits of the breed, parrot beak, wide and deep head, bright eye and incredible lacing. Res. AOCCL:

Turkeys get no respect ... Champion and reserve were our Bronze.

Congrats Heather on an impressive win, it was good seeing you again.

The look on your face when I asked what you thought of my BBR Araucana was hilarious! Wish someone caught it on camera, LOL. Have faith, they will get there. And in the meantime I finally have an araucana flock I enjoy working with. Good vigour, good fertility, and the extra roos are good on the table.


Congrats Dawn Webster on her Black Ameraucana pullet beating mine for AOSB champion. That was a deep tough class of Ameraucanas. Would be even better in a month when many more birds will be in better show condition. I appreciate the stiff competition, the breed will only benefit. Excellent job!

Congrats Suzin Crosby on her Appleyards beating my Saxony for the Heavy duck class. I've liked those Appleyards since the first time I saw them, good to see a judge share my opinion.
