I have a Roo who is a year old, he has really great character and I love him to pieces! I am planning to order more next year. Upon researching the standard I see that he does not have white lobes. Would this be something like leg color or feather pattern... you would breed for what is to be standard? I have read many posts on having birds not up to standard but never with lobe color. Also wondering if I were to use him for breeding would his offspring have the same issue?

Thanks,
Klassy

As far as I know, white earlobes is a polygenic trait, meaning several genes control it. I know some will try to work on it if it's really hard to find good stock otherwise, but I think you'd be setting yourself up for a lot of work.
