So I have one bantam partrige plymouth rock hen. Funny little thing. She had apparently been stashing eggs on the ledge above the nesting boxes ( also where she likes to roost). I had noticed she was sitting up there a lot but did not really pay attenting to her. Well yesterday I found a dead chick who must have hatched but fallen off the ledge Crying or Very sad

Well this morning she had a new one Very Happy Few more comming yet. I decided to move her and the eggs and chick to avoid any more falls. She was not too happy but seems settled now in her crate with the little brown ball of fuzz.

The most interesting part is I have no idea what the fathers are....could be cochin or d'uccle. The 1st baby does not have feather legs but might have a beard.

Kind of a fun suprise!
