I just finished a hatch. I have one that was a little late comparitively, and looks a little weak/tired. She's still in the 'bator. It has a fair bit of gunk stuck on it's back and I'm wondering if, when it's all dry and ready to go into the brooder, if it will be picked on because of that. Should I wash that off? It will necessitate a return to the incubator to dry off, and delay it getting into the brooder which would have otherwise happened this morning sometime.

Any suggestions? Thank you.

I usually wash them off, their fuzz doesnt grow in proper if you don't, delays feathers I find. I am sure a couple hours in the incubator and it will be a puffed up and ready to go to the brooder.
