I have collected the darkest of my Marans eggs, and had a broody, so put them under her 6 days ago. She sat on them faithfully....until today and off she went never to return again. So, luckily i have two others in my hen house which i have used..just moved the eggs.
My questions:
The eggs are pretty dirty..at least half of them are...she pooped up her nest pretty bad.
can i still keep them setting... ? and if the broodies don't work out..which they just might not...can i then hatch these eggs in an incubator?

If the eggs haven't got too chilled in the time she was off they should be fine moving to another hen or the incubator. Only time will tell. You'll just have to keep candling them to see if they're developing or rotting. Best of luck!!
