Oh sigh, that is not a good sign. I am sorry, but must be blatent. Chicks that stand with their heads tucked in are just not feeling well. I am hoping for a recovery of it, but honestly think it is going to pass from this world. Don't be surprised to see it gone soon, but then maybe...just maybe. I don't think there is much you can do when a chick has become this sick. Damn coccidiosis. I had a small outbreak with a couple of my babies that were 3 weeks old and in a segregated area beside adults. Only chicks have been in this pen. Two did not make it, the others are fine. I had a very small outbreak, only had found about 6 bloody stools, and I think it was the two that didn't make it for surely. Even with medication, and having been on medicated crumbles, the two passed. Must have been chicks with compromised immune systems I think. Probably don't want those two here anyways. Everyone is doing fine now and all are acting normally, just those two. It has been very moist and wet here, kind of warmish, perfect conditions for this disease to rear its ugly head. These were the only blood droppings I found and that was only for one day. I spent a whole lot of time out there, removing those bloody droppings I found, so was able to keep good track on how much I saw, outside, not inside, inside was hopeless to try and find any like that, as it is shavings, but clear to see outside against the brown earth. Sigh. I wish I had something good to tell you, but I don't. Just wait and see, you are doing all that you can, wishing luck for the little youngsters. Do try to find something to have a nice day, CynthiaM.
