ok well that is good news for you but the bad news is you should really take a trip for a few days or so and then come home to your nice lil ducklings, because they wait an awful long time after pipping til hatch (compared to chicks anyhow!!)
So more waiting etc.... Wink might be in order!

Good luck on your hatch, resist the temptation to remove ducklings... I think Miry is right a person really needs to just go away for a day or two and come home to ducklings, they seem to take there time. My last hatch completely missed their delivery, and since they were going by courier couldnt wait for them. They were 2 days late!

1st one out already! Checked around 1030 looked like a bit of zipping had started and at 1215 lid was off and duckling was sitting there looking around!

3 more pipped another looks like it's starting to zip. Can't wait until the morning!

4 out so far. 4 more comming....this is like watching paint dry but way cuter.

The last guy had his little webbed foot out after he had fully zipped and would wiggle and squirm but after about 4 plus hours I flicked his lid off as his leg was looking a little off colour. He came flying out. Littly wobbly still and legs and bill are dark. I did see that the males can have darker bills then the females at hatch and its quite a bit darker then the 1st 3 that are out ( welsh harlaquins).

So exciting. Want the rest to hurry up so they can come out and play!

Hatch is done! 8 out of 8 welsh are out! The last four were starting to dry out a little despite me misting down vent. That's my only complaint with the hovabator that despite a high humidity reading the last few always seem dryer.

But I am super happy! 4 are in the brooder eating and drinking well. The last 4 I will take out tonight!

I finally have 3 call duck eggs that made it to the end! All three are pipped internally and are wiggling and squealing inside.

Fingers crossed they all make it out!
